About Us

We are a family business that was founded in 1995 when 3D CAD Software was still very new to the market. Engineers were originally our largest client base, there were very few architecture or design firms using 3D CAD Software at the time.

3D Modelling Software began to rapidly progress, and in the early 2000s, an exciting new door opened to Professional CAD Systems - we became the NZ distributors of Trimble SketchUp Pro.

SketchUp is a revolutionary 3D modeling tool, not just for architects & designers - it is highly suitable for construction documentation & showcasing concepts in many different industries.

We are now expanding again with the latest advances in 3D portable laser scanners for reverse engineering, quality control & inspection, and many other 3D scanning applications.

Our focus is to provide exceptional customer service and support of the powerful products we offer to professionals who design, communicate and collaborate in 3D.

In 1995, Debbie started Professional CAD Systems - selling and supporting 3D Engineering and Architectural CAD software, with support from her husband Matthew. Since then, the business has quietly grown, developed and now flourishes under Debbie’s positive attitude, leadership and care. Debbie's commitment, hard work and determination have defined her in business as a woman who doesn't give up, looks for the good in every situation and will do everything she possibly can to support and take care of Professional CAD Systems' customers.

Matthew Cockroft

Matthew is a man of many talents and skills. He is always keen to find and embrace new advances in technology, and found SketchUp online in 2002. He envisioned the potential of the programme and acquired the NZ Distributorship of it, which opened new doors and expanded the business. He retired from being a high school teacher, and joined Debbie and Joseph in the business full time. Matthew is a qualified LBP and is also the International Distributor of SPIRIT CAD software and supports architects and architectural designers worldwide.

Joseph Cockroft

Joseph joined PCS in 2002 upon the completion of secondary school and was introduced to SketchUp, which he has since mastered, and is now our lead SketchUp Training Specialist. Joe then discovered Creaform’s Portable 3D Laser Scanners and CMM/Inspection Products that we are now NZ Distributors for. Through his determination, hard work, personable and calm attitude, he has supported and assisted in strengthening the business in a multitude of ways. Joe is now a metrology expert and master of all things 3D, with a wide range of knowledge on all the software and scanning products that we distribute.

Mark Longden

Mark joined PCS in 2016 with advanced IT skills & an interest in learning 3D architectural & engineering technologies. He has since created and continues to update this website, and manages online marketing & IT systems. Mark is always keen to keep up to date with the latest industry technologies, he uses SketchUp Pro to draw 3D models & plans, and V-Ray to create photo-realistic renders from them. He also tutors SketchUp Pro at our training workshops. For any technical issues or support we now all run to Mark!

Helen joined the PCS team in 2018, bringing to the company a wide range of expertise and experience. From sales and customer support, to importing/exporting, office practice and accounting skills. Her cheerful disposition will happily answer any Account queries and solve any SketchUp license questions or license needs you may have - for both our Students and Commercial customers. She is Debbie's right hand support!
