About Professional CAD Systems
From engineering CAD to 3D everything
Professional CAD Systems started in 1995, when 3D CAD was still new to the NZ market and engineers were most of our customers - architecture and design firms modelling in 3D were rare.
In the early 2000s we became the NZ distributor for Trimble SketchUp, and we've grown alongside it - SketchUp turned 3D modelling from a specialist skill into something every designer, builder and joiner could pick up, plus it was and still is far more fun to use than traditional architectural CAD software
Today the range covers the full 3D pipeline: SketchUp and its plugins for modelling, and Chaos tools like Enscape and V-Ray for rendering. For capturing the real world we represent two distinct scanner brands: FARO | CREAFORM for portable metrology, and peel 3d for accessible professional 3D scanning. We also provide rendering and 3D scanning services when you would rather hand the job to us.
Why buy from a local distributor
Software is easy to buy anywhere - support is not. Buying from us gets you advice before you spend (often the cheaper option is the right one), one NZD invoice with GST handled properly, help getting set up, and a phone that gets answered in NZ business hours by people who use these tools daily.
Authorised distributors and partners
We are the official NZ distributor for Trimble SketchUp and Chaos, the New Zealand partner for FARO | CREAFORM, and an Authorised SketchUp Training Center - the vendor relationships are real, which matters when a licensing problem needs escalating or a warranty claim needs weight behind it.
We use the tools we sell
We've used SketchUp since 2002, the year we became its New Zealand distributor, and we still use it every day - for architecture, interior design, landscaping, urban planning and 3D printing work - alongside V-Ray, Enscape and our 3D scanners. That's why our advice is specific: we know which plan you need because we know what the work involves.
