Skatter 2

Skatter 2 is the scattering engine for SketchUp: vegetation, gravel, crowds, carpets - anything that repeats - distributed parametrically over surfaces, curves or points, with every parameter saved and editable later.

Its render-only mode is the trick: Skatter hands the scattered geometry straight to your renderer instead of loading it into the model, so SketchUp stays light while Enscape or V-Ray draws a forest.

It’s sold as a lifetime licence - pay once, keep it, future upgrades included - with a fully functional 15-day trial to test on your own site model first.

Parametric, not painted

Distributions are rule-based - random, grid or mixed, with translation, rotation, scale and mirror randomisation - and every setup stays editable. Change the terrain, rerun the scatter.

Render-only = unlimited vegetation

Render-only scattering generates geometry at render time, so planting a hillside doesn't grind your model. Camera clipping generates only what's visible in frame.

Control at the edges

Falloff parameters blend densities smoothly - lawn fading into meadow, planting thinning near paths - the details that make landscape and subdivision visuals read as real.

Works with your renderer

Skatter’s render-only mode is supported by Enscape and V-Ray - the two renderers we stock - plus Thea, Corona, Octane and others. Any other engine can still render Skatter setups by generating the objects into the model.
