Envision 1, Update 1

Official release

Date - July 16, 2025

New Features

  • Traffic Simulation System:
    • Real-time vehicle traffic simulation powered by the Anima engine – instantly build dynamic street scenes, from busy urban areas to smooth-flowing highways.
    • The Chaos Cosmos library now includes animated vehicles ready to drop into your scene.
  • Revamped Render Settings plus Batch Rendering:
    • The updated Render Settings dialog streamlines workflow for both still images and sequences.
    • Create and manage multiple render jobs, each with unique camera or video, and scene state combinations.
  • Proximity Sensors: New interactive objects trigger animations when other objects or cameras come close – automatically open doors, activate mechanisms, and more.

Improvements

  • Full Screen Mode (FSM) Related Crashes: Streamlined the animation playback, variation editing and view switching while in FSM.
  • Material editor:
    • Added ability to specify and display the bump map type of materials. Select between grayscale map and normal map.
    • Added a simple transparency mode useful to create materials where light passes through without refraction or bending (like transparent or semi-transparent curtains or sheer fabrics).
  • Pivot, Align & Distribute: Now shows a notification if the requested operation isn’t possible with the current selection.
  • Spline creation/editing: Now requires at least two points to prevent confusion and accidental single-point attempts.

Crash Fixes

  • Fix crash when output video file is not writable.
  • Fix editing of variations in preview mode results in a crash.
  • Crash when assigning non-standard material as Mix material layer.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix referenced animation playback after source replace.
  • Fix switch of system audio output device muting Envision.
  • Use spacebar only for toggle of animation playback globally.
  • Turn off tone mapping for EXR render output.
  • Fixed persistence of imported camera properties across multiple sessions.
