Do I need to upgrade?
On a subscription: no action needed - install the new version when it suits you; your licence always covers the current release. On an old classic licence: new versions require a subscription - see renewals.

Do subscribers get new versions automatically?
Yes - an active subscription always includes the current version. Download it whenever you are ready; older versions keep working too.
What is the Analysis Hub?
Analysis Hub arrived in SketchUp 2026.2 as one place to study how a design performs. Advanced Shadows is the first official tool - sunlight at a solstice or equinox, useful for decks, glazing and shading decisions - with Labs analyses for annual illuminance, daylight factor, sDA and ASE, and direct sun.
Can older SketchUp versions open new files?
SketchUp can save back to earlier file versions, so teams on mixed releases can still exchange models - save down when sharing with someone on an older version.
Will the new version run on my machine?
Check the system requirements - requirements move slowly, but graphics-card expectations tighten over time.
