System Requirements

1 – Windows 11 is required for running Intel Alder Lake processors.

Windows

  • Processor – Intel1 64, AMD64 or compatible processor with AVX2 support
  • RAM – 8 GB RAM or 8 GB swap minimum – recommended 64 GB RAM or more
    (The actual amount required will vary with scene requirements.)
  • Operating system – Microsoft® Windows 10, or Windows 11 operating system
  • GPU Acceleration – NVIDIA CUDA: Maxwell-, Pascal-, Volta-, Turing-, Ampere-, and Blackwell-based NVIDIA card(s) with the latest recommended video driver
  • License Server – 6.2.0 or later

macOS

  • macOS version – 11.0 or newer
  • Processor
    • Up to Blender 4.5 – Apple ® M1 or later
    • Blender 5.0 – only ARM processors
  • RAM – Recommended 8GB or more, 8GB or more swap file. Minimum 4GB and 4GB swap file.
  • USB Port – Required for hardware lock, preferably USB 2.0
  • TCP/IP – Only IPv4 is supported. IPv6 is currently not supported
  • GPU Acceleration – Apple ® M1 or later
  • License Server – 6.2.0 or later

Linux

  • Processor:
    • Intel® 64, AMD64, or compatible processor with AVX2 support (x64).
  • RAM – 8 GB RAM and 8 GB swap minimum. Recommended 16 GB or more RAM, 16 GB or more swap file.
  • USB Port – Required for hardware lock, preferably USB 2.0.
  • TCP/IP – Only IPv4 is supported. IPv6 is currently not supported.
  • GPU Support:
    • NVIDIA CUDA: NVIDIA GPUs of Maxwell generation or later with the latest recommended video driver.
    • NVIDIA RTX: RTX cards with the latest recommended video driver.
    • V-Ray Production Denoiser: AMD or NVIDIA GPU supporting OpenCL 1.2.
    • NVIDIA AI Denoiser: NVIDIA cards of the Maxwell generation or later with the latest recommended video driver.
    • The minimum required compute capability is 5.22.
