This page provides information about the Particle Sampler node in V-Ray for Cinema 4D.

Overview

The Particle Sampler Node reads the attributes of the particle system, such as the particles' color, age, velocity, etc., and outputs the data to a material node that can be assigned to the V-Ray Particles Geometry that shades the particles. This allows per-particle shading and/or adjustments.

General

This texture acquires its data from the particle system; most of its functions are output ports (on the right side of the node). Each port corresponds to a channel in the particle system. If the node texture is connected to a material applied to a V-Ray Particles Geometry, the texture will sample the connected particle system automatically.

Default Color – Specifies a color to output to the material when there is no color data available from the particle system. Bitmaps or procedural texture nodes can also be connected to the port.
