This page provides information about the Toon Lighting render element.
Overview
The Toon Lighting Render Element stores direct lighting information from lights in the scene that hit the Toon Material and Toon Material Node. This render element can be used to brighten, lessen, or tint the direct lighting in a composite without affecting indirect light or reflections, for example.
The Toon Lighting RE is included in the Lighting RE. It can be subtracted from the main back-to-beauty composite, graded, and added back in. See the example.

Example: Enhancing the Lighting of the Toon Effect
In this example, the lighting of the Toon effect is tinted purple and is brightened. This is done by first subtracting the Toon Lighting RE from the render, and then applying the color corrections to the Toon Lighting RE and adding it back into the composite. See the render before and after.
