Built for civil and earthworks contractors who prepare sites for development: site preparation, excavation for foundations and services, and grading. Model the excavation from the foundation plan in SketchUp, then hand the design to the survey crew and the machine operators without redrawing it.
The points staked out on site and the grade the machine cuts both come from the design you checked in 3D, so there are fewer surprises once the digging starts.
From survey points to machine control
One model carries the design from the site office to the field and the machine.
Import points, linework and surfaces collected in Trimble Siteworks, or field points through Trimble Field Points, as reference geometry for the design.
Build the excavation design in SketchUp over the measured points and check it in 3D before anyone digs.
Set northing, easting and elevation offsets and place control points so the design sits at the right project coordinates.
Export the linework (.dxf) and terrain model (.ttm), or a complete Siteworks project, for set-out. With Trimble Earthworks, the same files feed 3D machine control.
Modelling that keeps up with your ideas
Pro Civil Contractor includes SketchUp 2027 and the AI tools built into it, so late design changes become quick edits instead of a rebuild.
Procedural Follow Me, Solid Tools and Copy Along stay editable: change a path, profile or spacing and the geometry updates.
Multi-threaded hidden line rendering cuts heavy vector rendering times by up to 85%, with faster vector PDF and DWG export.
More control over DWG and DXF import and export, IFC with coordinate reference systems, and TrimBIM on par with IFC.
Use AI Render to turn a model view into a render from a text prompt, and AI Assistant to generate objects. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.

What is the difference between Pro Civil Contractor and Pro Civil Contractor Plus?
The software is identical. Pro Civil Contractor Plus adds our NZ services: remote support from our SketchUp experts, the advanced video tutorial library, and access to our NZ training courses. It is the same Plus arrangement we offer on Pro, Advanced Workflows and Studio.
How does licensing work in New Zealand?
Pro Civil Contractor is an annual subscription that you buy from us in NZ dollars, with a GST invoice from Professional CAD Systems. You can sign in on up to two devices and deauthorise a device from your Trimble account when you move to a new machine. SketchUp needs an intermittent internet connection and keeps working offline for up to 28 days. NZ businesses can pay by card or on invoice, and we handle the renewal each year.
Do I need Trimble Siteworks?
Yes, to take the design into the field. Trimble Site Contractor exports to and imports from Trimble Siteworks, and 3D machine control needs the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control platform. Neither is included in the SketchUp subscription; both are bought separately from a Trimble supplier.
How is this different from SketchUp Pro Advanced Workflows?
Advanced Workflows includes Trimble Site Contractor plus Scan Essentials for point clouds and Revit Importer for BIM models. Choose Pro Civil Contractor if site and earthworks are the work; choose Advanced Workflows if you also model from scans or Revit files.

Yes. Your subscription includes SketchUp 2027 and 150 AI credits a month for AI Render and the AI Assistant. Credits reset each month and do not roll over.
