Enscape release notes for Windows, dated 24.06.2026.
Improvements
- Enscape's interface now uses the Chaos design system. The layout keeps familiar workflows and follows the design used by other Chaos products.
- Chaos Notification Center has a dedicated inbox in the renderer toolbar for tips, feature updates and important messages. You can snooze notifications for an hour or until the next day. It replaces the old update popup.
- Enscape to Envision Live Link lets you send your work to Envision with one click from the CAD toolbar. You can continue creating animations and cinematic visuals without a manual export.
- Enscape no longer has a 2 GB scene size limit. It now supports larger, more complex scenes without crashes caused by serialisation.
- Enscape now supports Revit 2027, including the new texture search paths in Revit 2027. Materials resolve correctly after you upgrade.
- Placing assets with the brush is now faster and more stable.
- Light Management now uses the same clustering algorithm in all visualisation modes. Its behaviour stays the same whether you view all lights or only visible lights.
- When you scale assets along the X and Z axes, the scaling gizmo now follows your mouse movement regardless of its orientation.
- The asset brush now distributes assets more evenly. It also handles density correctly when you allow overlap at maximum density.
- Impact now uses "Peak Energy Demands" instead of "Peak Loads" to match IES terminology.
- The Help Panel now selects the tab for the current GUI mode automatically when you activate or change the mode.
- The transition between detailed grass and LOD grass is smoother. This reduces visible cut-offs, especially in orthographic views.
- Scene Export now includes each light's enabled or disabled state in .vrscene files. Lights you switch off stay off in the exported scene.
- Enscape now finds the correct Cosmos Browser instance on shared machines. The Asset Library connects reliably when several users are logged in.
- Chaos Cloud uploads now handle scenes correctly when textures use Unicode characters.
- Enscape's log4net dependency has been updated to address a vulnerability in 3.2.0.
- AI Enhancer is no longer in beta.
- Impact energy and carbon results now switch units dynamically between kWh, MWh and GWh, kgCO₂ and tCO₂, and their imperial equivalents. These replace the rounded "1K" and "1M" shorthand.
- Archicad and Rhino now have their own Start Envision Live Link button, with Live Updates and Camera Sync. The localised labels are also finalised.
- Chaos Notification Center no longer shows toasts or modals while you have the notification inbox open.
- Chaos License Server is now updated to 6.3.1. This adds PAC-file proxy support for enterprise networks.
- Chaos Unified Login no longer shows the "database is locked" error when several Chaos applications register at the same time. It also has a Windows system tray icon and a graphical installer.
- Full scene exports are now faster.
- Enscape and Notification Center translations have been updated.
Fixed bugs
- Lights behind geometry no longer appear briefly when you open the Light Management window.
- Enscape no longer freezes when you press the Asset Library hotkey repeatedly.
- In Asset Brush, "Preview Selected Area" and "Confirm Placement" no longer become disabled after distribution changes.
- The Material Editor now updates the Height Map Type consistently when you change materials.
- The Material Editor interface no longer gets stuck when it cannot save the current material.
- Custom Asset Library assets no longer become corrupted when file access permissions prevent saving.
- Ray-traced artificial lighting now works correctly with clearcoat materials when you use ReSTIR.
- Hardware ray tracing no longer causes block artefacts in low-light reflections.
- Ray tracing no longer occasionally uses an incorrect normal direction.
- Impact no longer includes rooms with very low heights in the Energy Use Intensity calculation.
- The "Learn More" link on the Telemetry page now opens the help page.
- The Veras file save dialogue now includes the file extension in cases where it was previously missing.
- Faulty materials in Revit no longer stop the entire material feature from working.
- Renamed Cosmos assets in Revit now use the same family as previous instances.
- Enscape now registers correctly during Archicad installation in cases where registration previously failed, including Archicad 29.
- The Envision Live Link menu now updates the camera sync state correctly.
- Missing UVs in CAD geometry no longer cause errors when you start Envision Live Link.
- Envision Live Link now sets up the Live Camera in Envision even when the initial Revit camera has no field of view.
- In-CAD view selection in Revit is now disabled while Envision is running. This restriction remains until wider view support is available.
- The active working plane in Vectorworks 2026 no longer affects asset creation.
- Enscape no longer repeats the same Asset Library message and fails to close if you close the CAD application during multi-asset placement.
- Revit RPC objects now follow the Selective White Mode filter when Invert is enabled.
- Rhino now resolves symbolic links in file paths automatically.
- Live Camera is more stable in Revit. Moving the Enscape camera no longer causes a potential crash.
- Exceptions are no longer incorrectly converted into generic IPC serialisation errors.
- Opening Visual Settings or the Video Editor no longer causes a crash.
- You can now permanently dismiss the in-app Veras and Envision prompts.
- Cancelling batch rendering while Light Management is active no longer causes a crash.
