Windows OS

Before connecting Enscape to the Chaos license server, check with your IT Administrator whether your machine connects to the internet via a proxy server and whether you need to specify URL/IP exceptions in your Firewall.

Go to the General Settings window > Network. If you want to enter custom proxy settings, disable the Use System Default Values option.

If Enscape shows a Connection Failed message, it means that the specified Port is blocked by the antivirus or firewall.

If you’re not connected to a proxy server, you need to add some exceptions to your Firewall. The Firewall may block Enscape from connecting to the Chaos License, the server for Panoramas, Web Standalones, the Asset Library, and the Enscape Support function.

By default, Windows Defender does not block the ports required, and you can allow the Enscape.exe app to communicate through the Windows Defender Firewall, but if you are using a third-party firewall solution, make sure that you have created the following URL exceptions:

macOS

Go to the General Settings window > Network. If you want to enter custom proxy server settings, you have to do this in the System Preferences of your Mac.

These settings are located under System Preferences > Network > Used Network Connection > Advanced… > Proxies

Each time you open the network tab or put in a new proxy address, Enscape automatically tests the connection. You can see a green checkmark confirming that the connection is working. If an error message displays and the proxy settings are set correctly, Enscape or the specified port is blocked by an antivirus program or firewall.

The Mac firewall does not block connections of signed applications. However, if it does, or if you are using a 3rd-party firewall, you need to manually add exceptions to the firewall. You can find Mac firewall settings in Security & Privacy under System Preferences.
