Prompt Engineering in AI Render

Prompt engineering is the art of crafting specific inputs, or prompts, that guide an AI model in generating desired outputs. With AI Render, your input prompts describe the visual elements you want in your SketchUp model’s viewport.

Prompt engineering is the art of crafting specific inputs, or prompts, that guide an AI model in generating desired outputs. With AI Render, your input prompts describe the visual elements you want in your SketchUp model’s viewport. By following some basic prompt engineering best practices, even those that are unfamiliar with generative AI can create unique, customized images.

If you want to get started with prompts in AI Render right away, choose one of the following:

  • Generating Custom Output – In addition to your own custom text prompts, AI Render also offers tools like Erase, Paint, and Sketch, to help you fine tune your prompt to help you get the output you need.
  • Preset Prompts – Details on how to use AI Render’s Auto feature, or more information about the preset prompts available to you.
  • Best Practices for Text Prompts – A quick guide to best practices you can follow when creating your own text prompts.

Adding an Environment to a Model

Environments allow you to add 360°panoramic backgrounds and image-based lighting conditions to your SketchUp models. The Environments panel is where you can add and manipulate environments, or import High Dynamic Range Image (HDRI) files or OpenEXR files to create a new environment.
