Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires any Information and Communication Technology (ICT) developed, procured, maintained, or used by federal agencies to meet certain accessibility standards.

Recently, SketchUp partnered with a 3rd party company specializing in accessibility testing. This company determines how SketchUp conforms to a strict set of accessibility-based criteria. These findings are compiled in a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) Version 2.4 Revised 508 Edition, a document explaining how SketchUp meets Section 508 standards for IT accessibility.

Modeless dialog boxes help keep many SketchUp features, like Materials and Styles, easy to access while modeling.In MacOS, dialog boxes appear as independent windows that can be moved around the modeling window as needed.
