Overview

In complex architectural projects, performance analysis results can often be difficult to interpret, particularly for internal spaces that are obscured from the exterior view. This limitation makes it challenging for designers to identify under-performing rooms and apply targeted design improvements.

The Section Tool provides performance analysis results on a floor-by-floor basis, ensuring that all spaces within the building are accessible for review. By improving visibility into interior rooms, the Section Tool enables early detection of problematic spaces and facilitates more informed decision-making during the design process.

This is useful when working on complex architectural projects. It helps identify under-performing rooms and apply targeted design improvements.

Usage

To access and operate the Section Tool, follow these steps:

  1. Launch Enscape Impact > Section Tool.
  2. Initialize the project. If this is the first time launching the project, enter the required input data to start the calculation process. Once geometry detection is complete, the Section Tool becomes active and ready for use.
  1. Select a building if your project contains more than one building. If there’s only a single building, it is selected automatically. The selected building defines the reference point for the section levels.

Building selection

  1. Select a level to position the section cut. It appears 1 meter above the finished floor of the chosen level. All buildings in the project are cut at the same height for visual consistency.
